Plasma Cutting and How it Works

Plasma cutting is accomplished by and arc being created by the electrode. As gas passes through this arc the gas is accelerated and heated and is known as plasma.

This arc created is transfered to the metal being cut and the plasma passes through the material. This is the process of how plasma cuts metal.

As this process is quick and HVAC ducting is ussually a thin gauge metal, cutting ductwork can be accomplished up to 1,000 inched per minute.
